  • Vergés - Cook & Talk: taste of season – Divinum

The perfect balance between kitchen and dining room

Our next stop on Cook and Talk is the Divinum restaurant in the heart of Girona. The restaurant’s culinary offerings stand out for their excellence, professionalism, and attention to detail.

The restaurant opened just over 20 years ago as a small venue serving wine and cheese. Over time, these “tapas” were accompanied by increasingly elaborate dishes. The dream of Joan Morillo and Laura Tejero has evolved into the project it is today: a Michelin-starred restaurant with a reputation that reflects the excellence of its team.

Divinum’s culinary offering, based on respect for the product and the region, reinterprets traditional recipes using cutting-edge techniques and careful presentation that surprise and seduce diners. Their appetisers are a clear example of the tapas that were popular in their beginnings, but in a more modern and elaborate version.

Designed by Lara Pujol, the space is elegant and understated, creating a warm and timeless environment in which comfort and aesthetics play an essential role. In this setting, the Cistell chairs, designed by Yago Sarri, provide sophistication and comfort throughout the dining experience.

There is a waiting room at the entrance where Bernardes benches by Andreu Carulla add character to this cosy, elegant space.

Divinum undoubtedly represents a balanced dialogue between space, furnishings and cuisine, where the harmony between recognisable flavours, technique and presentation creates a complete gastronomic experience that stimulates all the senses.
